As the founder of Chun Yi Piano Studio, I find joy in helping students grow into both well-rounded musicians and confident individuals. Music offers more than playing; it cultivates patience, perseverance, and creative problem-solving skills that enrich life far beyond the piano.
With more than 15 years of teaching experience, I hold two Master of Music degrees — in Collaborative Piano (University of Toronto) and Piano Performance (Indiana University Jacobs School of Music) — along with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Piano Performance and Pedagogy (First Class Honours) from Hong Kong Baptist University. I continue to learn every day, currently studying Russian piano technique through the Gorin Institute.
My philosophy is built on three core values: Inspire · Nurture · Empower. Every lesson reflects these principles, from establishing a healthy technical foundation to encouraging creative expression and celebrating each milestone. In our supportive environment, students feel safe to explore, experiment, and grow in confidence.
I believe every student has unique potential waiting to be discovered. My goal is to introduce music in ways that spark curiosity and joy, nurture skills and creativity, and guide students toward steady progress and achievement. Beyond exams, recitals, and competitions, I hope every student develops a lifelong love of music, carrying its gifts of confidence, resilience, and joy into all areas of life.
